Now it's getting festive: The Monchhichi autumn news in a new look
Japanese doll manufacturer Sekiguchi is launching four new models in its anniversary year: including the first Monchhichi with white plush fur, a cheerleader Monchhichi and retro Monchhichis in a hippie look.
For 50 years, the traditional company has been delighting both children and collectors with the unmistakable Monchhichis sucking on their thumbs. What began in Tokyo in 1974 developed shortly after into a “must-have” for small and big fans around the world. This year, the star Monchhichi girl made of white plush with a blue satin dress with star print ensures bright eyes under the Christmas tree. It also has matching bows in the hair.
The retro couple is less glamorous but no less true to style: The Monchhichi hippie boy wears a flashy two-piece with vest and flared bottoms in a colorful floral pattern. Of course, the matching headband should not be missing! The female pendant is presented in a floral dress with pink flower hair accessories. The trumpet sleeves make the look perfect: Back to the 70s! With their flower power outfits, they can conquer any dance floor in no time at all — whether at a carnival or at a theme party.
It gets sporty with cheerleader Monchhichi: The girl with two braids wears a detailed red and white dress with MCC lettering — unmistakably “Team Monchhichi.” With the two characteristic red pompoms, it really heats up its fans — whether on the dance floor or at a sporting event. The new cheerleader Monchhichi is guaranteed to set the mood!
