New addition to Blattert PR: Katrin Moosmann
The start of a bold journey
“Courage is good”: This motto has inspired me time and again, especially professionally. As a young woman aged 21, after training as an industrial clerk and two years of professional experience as an export clerk at a well-known sanitary ceramics manufacturer in the Black Forest, I decided that I would like to go back to school. For one year, I swapped a fixed salary for BAföG and the office for the school desk and completed the Fachhochschulreife. One of the best years of my life. Back then, I started writing short stories in physics class. About class, clothes, boys or soccer. Writing became more and more of my great passion, one that has probably been with me since I was a child. Because as a young girl, as my parents tell me, I wrote stories and had a lot of imagination.
The path to journalism: From business administration to freelance writing
The desire to become a journalist grew in me, but then I first studied business administration. Building on education is a logical next step. And to this day, I don't regret it. I like business administration and it's a bit of a balance sheet to my creative streak. Nonetheless, it quickly became clear to me that I want to write, not just privately. During my studies, I started working as a freelancer at my local newspaper and wrote my bachelor's thesis there a few months later. I have combined business administration and journalism: editorial marketing, that's the topic of my thesis. After graduation, a few months of traineeship followed before my motto “Courage does good” told me that I would like to try my luck as a freelance journalist.
Meeting with Blattert2: Coincidence or fate?
I did that and at some point on my way I met Sabine von Blattert2. This is where my second motto in life comes into play: “Coincidence is God's pseudonym if he doesn't want to sign.” Because an encounter due to a game report turned into close contact, which became friendly over time. About a year ago, there was also a spark between BlatterPR and myself in terms of “texts”, so that I have been supporting the wonderful team around Miriam and Sabine as a freelance PR editor ever since.
Inspiration from family life: creativity from my children
It is incredibly fun to get to know the great products, but above all the people behind and around them. As the mom of two wild guys (9 and 4 years), it is inspiration that makes (professional) life easier, because some toys or cool costumes are celebrated at home, but I can just as creatively write about things that actually small people can best judge.
The focus on family: That applies privately and that applies to Blattert2: Because not only are the products that we are allowed to market for families, but working with the “girls” is also wonderfully familiar and friendly, yet always professional. Working with people who still want to know how you're doing: That's what Blattert does2 Off for me!
